At Keystone TBEX 2012,
Dessert Looks Like Regular Food

This page is outside of the scope of our regular reviews of cool travel places and products. But we simply had to post photos somewhere on our travel site of some of the amazing desserts prepared by the pastry chefs at Colorado’s Keystone Resort.
Three desserts in particular caught our eye. Because, at first glance, they didn’t look like desserts at all. Hamburger cupcakes, chocolate tacos and (our favorite) white chocolate spaghetti and meatballs are each shown in photos below—click on a pic to see a larger version in a new window. (Not shown are some of that other sweet offerings, including the chocolate fountain).
Spot Cool Stuff is enjoying said desserts in Keystone as participants in the annual TBEX (Travel Bloggers EXchange) conference. The first time we attended TBEX was in New York City in 2010. Then all they served was bagels. And not good New York bagels either—cheap ones with insufficiently small cups of bad cream cheese. Oh, how far they’ve traveled in two years.
Though we haven’t even been at TBEX for a full day, it is clear that BlogWorld has done any amazing job preparing the conference.
Our only complaint so far: The regular dinner entrees did not resemble dessert. Come one, would it have killed you to have made the salmon look like strawberry ice cream?
